International Network of Hochschullernwerkstätten – NeHle e.V.

The association “Internationales Netzwerk der Hochschullernwerkstätten e.V.” (NeHle) was founded in Bremen on 21 February 2017 within the context of the "10. Internationalen Fachtagung der Hochschullernwerkstätten" (10th International Conference of Hochschullernwerkstätten). Hochschullernwerkstätten take place in the initial and further training and development particularly of teachers in all areas of education, from elementary schools to adult education.

  • fostering the establishment and development of Hochschullernwerkstätten,
  • further developing the concept of Hochschullernwerkstätten,
  • expanding the research in the context of Lernwerkstätten,
  • disseminating the idea of Lernwerkstattarbeit.

"Hochschullernwerkstätten" are structurally and spatially anchored in the institution of higher education. They are characterised by the theoretical and conceptual basis of their spatial design and material equipmentResearch and reflection processes are indispensable for the further development of "Hochschullernwerkstätten". Within the framework of the academic research and education mandate, "Hochschullernwerkstätten" contribute specifically to the professionalisation of educators by making their own learning and the support of others' learning the central focus of their studies, further education and research. Professionalisation refers to guided and reflective self-awareness in the design of open learning settings, qualification in the role of learning support, other roles, and reflection on role changes in teaching and learning processes. By engaging with the space and the diverse materials that challenge personal initiative, teaching and learning processes can be perceived, explained, documented and reflected upon in a theory-led manner. The content used to illustrate teaching and learning processes can be integrated into the study programme curriculum or selected individually based on personal interest. "Hochschullernwerkstätten" are geared towards cross-status group and cross-programme participation, communication, cooperation and networking, making them an important interface both within and outside the university organisation.
